* Government of India Fellowships @ ` 16,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd years and ` 18,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for Lectureship only in population or its inter-disciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. fellowship also carries a contingency grant of ` 10,000/- per year for the first two years and ` 20,500/- for the third year. However the candidates, without NET qualification shall be given fellowship @ ` 12,000/- per month for the 1st and 2nd years, and ` 14,000/- per month for the 3rd year, with a contingency grant of ` 10,000/- per year. Number of seats will be as per the availability of fellowships at the time of admission. In addition, UGC-JRF and other fellowship holders will also be considered for admission as per availability of seats.

Eligible foreign students may also apply provided they secure funds from appropriate agencies.
